“I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. Galatians 2:20
The longer I pursue what transformation looks like, the more I can’t seem to escape this scripture. In our walk with Jesus we hear a lot about dying to ourselves. Recently, I just heard the same statement, “I die daily.” To be honest, I’m not really sure what that means. My flesh immediately rises up and asks “Do I never get a say? Do I never get my own way? What about me?”
And as quickly as I began to ask those questions, I immediately felt the Lord speak to my heart and bring some understanding. Let me first say, that I think in dying to ourselves we are not supposed to lose who we are – who God created us to be. The Lord’s truth always brings freedom. Which is exactly what He brought to my heart.
What I sensed the Lord say to me was “Die to make Me more alive in your life.” For me, that is a great standard to measure my decisions by. It encourages me to live in such a way that puts God on display in my life.
We each have an opportunity to allow the Lord to use our lives as a backdrop for His glory. The question is, will you die to live?
May your heart become Christ’s home today!
